Feedback is something that does not come easily to a DJ it seems. Yes, when in performance there is the immediate gratification of seeing the dancers enjoying themselves. But for radio shows, podcasts, uploaded remix files for fans to download … these activities that occupy much of a DJ’s time seldom result in feedback. I wanted to share with you the most wonderful feedback I got the other day ….
This is from a fan of mine who is severely hearing impaired, she is talking about Come Danz with DJ M: Tribute to Michael Jackson.
“I may have told you that I am very restricted in the types of music I can hear and relate to these days (I have a terrible time with unfamiliar music—can only really hear old songs that I heard prior to this end stage of hearing, and am best at solo musicians playing familiar songs). HOWEVER, I really enjoyed this particular offering! I played it this morning while I took a CME exam and found myself forgetting about the science and being filled with the strong NEED TO DANCE!
Thank you from a music-loving sort-of-deaf girl!!!”
“As you can imagine, the loss of sound and especially music, has been one of the most devastating, prolonged sources of angst I have experienced. My partner has seen a couple of instances where I actually got tears in my eyes when I could make out a melody —-yesterday, he came upon me dancing around in my office—thanks to M!
Thank you for this feedback …. you inspire me to try even harder.
Love
DJ M
